There’s a new opportunity for homebuyers, and it could make a meaningful difference as you plan your next move.
The Federal Government has introduced new GST/HST rebate measures for eligible buyers of new homes, with additional provincial HST relief proposed by the Province of Ontario. While details continue to unfold, the intent is clear: reduce upfront costs and make homeownership more accessible. At Patten Homes, we’re actively monitoring these updates and helping buyers like you understand how to take advantage of them.

Program details:
- Federal GST rebate available on eligible new homes valued up to $1M
- Reduced federal rebate on eligible new homes valued between $1M and $1.5M
- Ontario has proposed additional provincial HST relief of up to $80,000 on eligible new homes, subject to final legislation
- Homes not eligible for the new programs may still qualify for the existing $24,000 Ontario HST rebate
- Proposed Ontario enhancement applies to purchase agreements signed between April 1, 2026 and March 31, 2027
